Riela Marcellis - Body and Uniform

Yo everybody. I havn't posted anything for a few days because i had Mario come over here and build his Kurt Irving puppet with me as i built Riela, but in turn i got alot done!

The pic is a compilation of the process. She is most basicly built up the same way as Alicia but with different colours and different uniform style.

Riela Marcellis - Head and Armature

Here is some progress on Riela Marcellis, the second valkyrur in this project!. The armature is done, and just like the pre-made armour i showed in the prievous post, i did also do her head already which i found as a good choice because attaching the head during progress of her body will give the full picture, it was some unsureness when i made Alicia because i had to imagine the head on the body.

The Armature is done exactly as Alicia's except that the green putty sculpt are slightly different (because Riela's boots are different). i also made armature for her hair, just like with Alicia

Riela goes Alicia cosplay!, well, it's fun with exchangeable heads but that's not their main reason. having heads removeable opens the choice to change into valkyria hair (fully white), aswell as removing heads if the body (or head) needs a repair during animation. Her hair was something even the most bold hair-stylist should fear. It was a true chellange but i think she ended up pretty good, and she's very kawaii too!. i had to first do the white bits and then layer the red over it, this hair was also a slight bit harder to work with than Alicia's.

"I believe in you, Kurt" - Riela Marcellis joins the squad!

Right folks!, the next character chosen for this project is Riela Marcellis, number 13 of the nameless!. i chosed her because il ike her colours and design.

First of here is the scetch, it's done in-scale with alicia and so are a slight bit taller. alicia is 158cm tall in real life, while riela is 162cm.

I have also pre-made her armour which is only upper leg and knee pads, both being the same as militia scouts but with the black colour, so the moulds once again come handy!.

"I'm a weapon... No! A shield!" - Alicia Melchiott puppet finished!

There was alot of work, and some chellanging bits to overcome, but she's finaly done. She do still need a rifle and some gear though, but i have decided that i'll do a few characters first before o focus on the weaponry. I might still do weapons as a side-project while making the other characters.

Alicia stands about 15" tall and that is roughly 1/4 scale, so i'll go with that. She is fully poseable including toe-joint and exchangeable head, in order to change her into a valkyria once i do her alternate head.

So this currently closes the Alicia arc of this blog, until i start on her gear. And i will annaunce the next character shortly!.

Alicia Melchiott - Hair

Finally added the hair, it was much more of a chellange than i first expected.

At first i was to have wire inside much more parts of the hair but i had to change plans a bit because it was a pain to glue it on. insteed i had to use sections of the wig i chosed, where the hair is fixed so it will stay on better. i added in sections above eachother to create the twintails by rolling bits of the sections i cut out around the wire twintails, so they can be animated.

Alicia Melchiott - Armour finished!

Armour is now all painted up and attached!, you can see how i did it bellow!

The armour was base coated with black spray primer. I then painted the first colour in blueish grey ("shadow grey" citadel paint). Next up i mixed the shadow grey with a bit of brighter grey and painted on the bright camo patterns, i then did the same on the darker ones but i used black with shadow grey insteed. Finally i added the red stripes using citadel "red gore" and finished of by adding the thin white stripes using a fine brush.

I attached the big plates on a strap made of black fabric, and connected it to the smaller plate above, once i glue on the small plate the big one will hang properly and be flexible for leg movement.

I made the cross-belts using the same leathery fabric i used on her boots, but a darker brown.

I then glued on all plates using hot glue gun and it sticks exelent!

Alicia Melchiott - Eyes and Armour cast Finished!

Right, so i have finaly cast all the Scout armour pieces for Alicia, aswell as printed a pair of neutral eyes. The best part with this armour is that the worst is over, i can now freely cast this pieces for any other character who needs it!.

I printed out a test sheet with various eyes on it, there are the game-design of alicia's eyes aswell as the anime, also there is Edy and Riela's eyes which i havn't edited up in photoshop yet, this was just a test to get alicias eyes. After printing i attached them to the magnet tape which is perfect for this, once attached i used scissors to cut em out, then it's just to attach them to the eye magnets on the head!.

All Armour pieces are cast and i also loosely attached them to see how it looked!. Now it's just a paintjob and then i'll attach them for real!
